It’s an infrequent but very welcome pleasure to see a great illustrator rewarded with a major commission. Today’s Guardian launches a new series on Great British Walks with a full size colour illustration on the cover page by Christopher Wormell. Wormell’s special talent for transcribing the English pastoral vision into a robust pictorial framework with a complete absence of whimsy or sentimentality is ideally suited to the task.
